First
public appearance of new FED Chair Janet Yellen today, days after United States employment data fell short of expectations for
the second straight month, posing questions for how the Fed will proceed with
the withdrawal of monetary stimulus if the weakness in jobs creation continues.
Yellen, long a supporter of the Fed's ultra-loose
policy approach, must walk a line between maintaining enough support for the
recovery and not spooking markets convinced the U.S. central bank will cease
buying bonds by the end of this year.
