Earnings Watch



v Ericsson AB, the world’s largest maker of mobile-phone networks, reported second-quarter profit that missed analysts’ estimates as wireless carriers curbed spending to cope with a slowing global economy.
v Face book Inc. (FB), operator of the world’s largest social-network, declined after a report from Capstone Investments said the number of users fell over the past six months
v Intel Corp. (INTC), the world’s largest semiconductor maker, scaled back its annual sales forecast as personal-computer demand fails to rebound among consumers in the U.S. and Europe.
v Charles Schwab Corp (SCHW.N), one of the largest U.S. brokerages, said on Tuesday its second-quarter profit rose 16 percent, helped by a one-time gain, an increase in fee-based advisory accounts and stronger net interest income.

v Yahoo Inc's (YHOO.O) new chief executive, Marissa Mayer, and Ross Levinsohn, the executive whom she replaced, both sat out the company's second quarter earnings call Tuesday.
v Johnson & Johnson said Tuesday its second-quarter profit dropped 49% to $1.41 billion, or 50 cents a share, from $2.78 billion, or $1 a share, in the year-ago period.
v Corporate uniform supplier Cintas Corp. reported late Monday a fiscal fourth-quarter profit of $78.6 million, or 60 cents a share, up from $70.8 billion, or 49 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue for the quarter rose 4.1% to $1.05 billion

v Coca-Cola Co., the Atlanta soft-drink firm, reported on Tuesday that second-quarter net income was about even with a year earlier on 2.7% higher revenue. Earnings were $2.79 billion versus $2.8 billion in the year-earlier period. Profit per share rose to $1.21 from $1.20 as shares outstanding fell 1.5% to 2.3 billion. Revenue reached $13.09 billion from $12.74 billion.
